We are proud to announce that INITS has received €1,000,000 in funding from the « Fonds européen de développement régional (FEDER) » as part of the Priority P01 program of the Occitanie FEDER-FSE+ 2021-2027!

This incredible support marks a major milestone for the INITS SMO project, which aims to establish innovative bioproduction capacities in the Occitanie region. We extend our sincere gratitude to @La Région Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée, @EuropeEnFrance, and the European Commission for their trust and commitment to advancing health innovation.

Key highlights of the SMO project :

• Location: The facility is built in the Parc Industriel Or Méditerranée (PIOM), a dynamic industrial zone benefiting from its status as a Regional Aid Zone (AFR). This will foster local economic development and enhance the region’s industrial attractiveness

  
  

• Vision: To offer manufacturing capabilities and support the growth of local, national and European biotech companies

  
  

• Strategic Impact: The project aligns with the Occitanie region’s innovation strategy, specifically the Health, Well-being & Aging Well domain, and contributes to the MedVallée initiative led by Montpellier Metropolis. It strengthens economic resilience, supports pharmaceutical sovereignty, and fosters innovation while securing local jobs.

The funding will enhance our capabilities through the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment. This investment strengthens the region’s position, reinforcing Montpellier and Occitanie as a center of excellence in biotherapy and bioproduction. It opens doors to new markets, bolsters France’s pharmaceutical independence, and ensures the region remains a hub of innovation and opportunity.
